Antiques and More, Goodyear, Mini Mart, and Video Warehouse all had mailboxes damaged Tuesday night

At least ten Albany businesses have had mailboxes or signs destroyed since Saturday night.

Antiques and More, Goodyear, Mini Mart, and Video Warehouse all had mailboxes damaged Tuesday night. Five other Dawson Rd. businesses including Pro 1 Sports Wear and the Red Cross blood donation center had its mailboxes or signs damaged Saturday night.

“As a non-profit and other small businesses that they’ve hit, we don’t have a lot of money, resources, those types of things, to draw people to our location and to just go and mess that up, really is frustrating,” said Andrew Everett with the Red Cross.

Police say they suspect kids living in the area are responsible for the damage and are asking neighbors to keep an eye out for suspicious activity. Destroying mailboxes not on federal property is a misdemeanor.
