As part of "girls' rights week," a few lucky girls were honored tonight.

A ceremony was held at the East Albany Center for the handful of girls in Dougherty and Terrell Counties that succeeded in academics, sports, and community involvement.  The event had a Cinco de Mayo feel to it with Mexican food being served.  The theme of the night was "if girls had their rights," stressing the importance of girls remembering their rights.

This year Girls Incorporated celebrated their 35th year.
