Albany Assistant Fire Chief Roderick Jolivette has been fired pending an appeal.

Jolivette’s dismissal comes on the heels of an investigation that states he ordered an on-duty fire crew to take a fire truck to his relatives’ home to remove mildewed carpet and padding.  A five-page termination letter cites misconduct, improper use of a city work force and equipment, abusing authority, and making false accusations against other employees.

The investigation also states that Jolivette lied during a polygraph test.
