Trial set for Albany man accused of killing girlfriend's 3-year-old son

A man accused of killing his girlfriend's 3-year-old son and trying to make it look like a bathtub drowning is expected to go on trial next week in Albany.

Vincent Soilberry is accused of beating Shondarius Roney in the head, chest and torso, resulting in "a lacerated liver, fractured
ribs, bruising about the body and contusions to the lungs and heart."  Police initially responded to a drowning at the boy's home on May 2.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Chris Cohilas said the trial of the 18-year-old Soilberry could start on Monday.
