Authorities locate a baby who was taken when her parents car was stolen

Jordyn Bridges, the 11-month-old child who was the focus of a major ground and air search in Albany Monday evening has been found safe.

An exhaustive search began after the mother reported the car containing the toddler stolen from the Family Dollar store parking lot  at 1502 Radium Springs Road just before 6:30 p.m. Monday night. Police say the mother, Jennifer Allen, went into the Family Dollar store, leaving the child restrained in a car seat. The car was reportedly running with the keys inside. When Allen came back out, she saw the car being driven away.

The child and the car, a gray 2000 Nissan Maxima was spotted in an apartment parking lot in the 600 block of Sands Drive just before 10:00 p.m. Monday night. The case remains under investigation.
