Commissioners gather to discuss the budget
The Ben Hill County Commission had their first meeting of the year Tuesday evening.
After reappointing several positions and holding a small ceremony for former commissioner Candy Davis, the commission moved on to the budget.
Commissioner Frank Field says the commission voted to fund the volunteer fire department for four months and start a new fire protection study. “We’re doing the study to look at entire fire protection posture for Ben Hill County and citizens and hopefully at the end of that study we’ll have a much better idea as to what needs to be done going forward” says Field.
