Dougherty County residents take advantage of new tax law

Starting on Friday, drivers who bought their on or after January 1st, 2012 will owe a one-time 6.5% ad valorem tax fee instead of paying a fee on their birthday every year.  / Colby Gallagher

Updated with video; The new tax law for Georgia drivers went into effect today and Dougherty County Tax Commissioner Denver Hooten says many residents showed up at the office to opt in for the new law.
