Five Lee County properties were auctioned off today with 25 people registered to bid. The five projects totaled over $2.2 million.
Just a handful of businessmen and or private investors bid on the most cherished piece of land in the auction, the 22-plus acres which sits between Tracker Supply to Grand Isle Drive.
Bob Brooks, who owns multiple properties in Dougherty County and Albany, bid nearly $1.4 million and as of right now owns the property. Brooks declined an on camera interview with FOX 31 News saying he’ll talk when the paper work is official. When asked what he’ll do with the real estate, Brooks said, “I have no idea.”
Meanwhile, Vince Barfield served as the auctioneer and was happy with the outcome.
“Today’s market I feel like that’s a pretty good figure to reach. Good competitive bidding and I really don’t think we could have reached that just with the traditional listing method,” said Barfield.
None of the deals done today are official. There’s a 96 hour confirmation period so the highest bidder can decide what he truly wants to do.
