(AP) -- Georgia Power's plans to expand their Plant Vogtle Nuclear plant are up for another hearing before the state Public Service Commission.

Earlier this year the PSC gave Georgia Power the OK to move forward with the $6.4 billion expansion and state lawmakers approved legislation allowing the utility to being charging ratepayers early for the construction costs.

Georgia Power is expected to say Tuesday whether there are any changes to the project's cost or timeline.  The project, near Augusta, is scheduled to be completed in 2017.  It could be the first new nuclear project to break ground in the country in three decades.
