ALBANY, GA --
Tuesday is National Pancake Day and to celebrate IHOP restaurants across the country are flipping' flapjacks for free.

For the past eight years, IHOP restaurants have offered customers a free short stack or three of IHOP's famous buttermilk pancakes, to raise awareness for Children’s Miracle Network.  In return, IHOP asks customers to donate to Children's Miracle Network.

Albany IHOP Crew Manager and grandmother of a child who was helped by CMN, Terry Young, says this is a great cause that can touch everyone.

"You never know when you might be walking in my shoes because if it hasn't happened to you now, you don't know when it will happen to you," said Young.

Young's granddaughter, Bryanna, was born two months early weighing just one pound, 13 ounces.

"It was sad in the beginning but now its happiness and joy, so Bryanna's done very, very well and I would like to thank the Children's Miracle Network for being there for the parents, my son and daughter-in-law," said Young.

Since the creation of National Pancake Day back in 2006, IHOP has raised more than $10 million dollars for the Children's Miracle Network.  The Albany IHOP hopes to raise $5,000.00 and all money donated will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ program at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
