TAMPA, FLA --
AAA predicted a retreat of gas prices at the pump and their forecast is coming true.

According to AAA, the price of gas started to fall last week and the downward trend is expected to continue throughout the rest of January.

Motorists should enjoy the short tem fall in the prices, as AAA has forecasted they will peak in the spring when refineries switch to summer fuel blend and demand ramps up.

“Demand for gasoline remains low and will likely decrease in the coming weeks as winter progresses, flu season worsens, and the tax increase hits worker paychecks,” said AAA spokeswoman Jessica Brady in the release. “Motorists could see gas prices drop another 3 to 5 cents this week.”
