Wednesday, October 13, 2010  Law enforcement officials in Sumter County have seized 81 dogs.  Sumter County Sheriff Pete Smith says the dogs were found in deplorable conditions, with feces tangled in their fur.  Smith says many of the dogs are sick and some of them had no food and water.

Tuesday, August 24, 2010  Two people are in the Sumter County Jail today after a week-long drug investigation.  The drug sting ended Monday at in the parking lot of Phoebe Sumter Medical Center when one of the suspects shot herself in the head.
