University of Georgia bee researcher Keith Delaplane says, "It's likely only a matter of time before the Africanized honeybees, commonly known as killer bees, work their up through the state," reported WAGA FOX 5 in Atlanta.

Entomological tests have confirmed that Africanized honeybees were responsible for the death of an elderly man in Dougherty County last week. 73-year-old Curtis Davis accidentally disturbed a feral colony of bees with his bulldozer; he received more than 100 stings.
