ALBANY, GA. --

Albany State University students took a lesson on rape awareness Tuesday night.

The ASU Police Department hosted on a forum in the student center with the theme of 'No Means No.'

A representative from the Dougherty County District Attorney's Office spoke to the crowd about how the law stands when it comes to rape.

Organizers say they want students to be prepared just in case something happens.

“What we've done is given them the definition of date rape, consensual sex and when no means no, helping them to understand that there really is no grey area,” said Capt.. Constance Johnson, ASU Police Department.

The forum was for both male and female students.
