ALBANY, GA. --

Thursday night Albany State University recognized a southwest Georgia community leader who has helped college students fund their education.

Patsy Martin was the guest of honor for the 3rd annual Community Service Awards Banquet.

Martin is a realtor and retired president and regional executive for Bank of America.

The banquet honored Martin for being an advocate for education.

“I'm just grateful and I’m just thrilled to be with friends and family and to celebrate something that's going to make a big difference in students at Albany State who are the recipients of the scholarship dollars from the foundation,” said Patsy Martin.

Martin credits ASU for playing a key role in her success as a banker.
