ALBANY, GA. --

A well-known member of the Albany Chamber of Commerce has put in her resignation to move on to another opportunity.

Deborah Bowie has served as Senior Director of Public Policy and Communications for the chamber for nearly two years.

Since joining the team, she's helped on issues of business in the community and served as the key liaison for annual delegation Atlanta visits.

In Bowie's farewell letter to the city, she states "I know this community has a capable foundation of people who care about its future, and I wish you the best going forward."

Chris Hardy, President of the Albany Chamber of Commerce, says officials have not begun the process of looking for a replacement.

He plans to meet with chamber members next week to lay out a plan for moving forward.
