ALBANY, GA --
The Albany Civil Rights Movement has spanned more than fifty years; one church's pastor has experienced it all.

Pastor H.C. Boyd came to the area during a time that was segregated.

Over time, there have been both advances and set backs, but the opportunity to move forward is possible, even in leadership roles.

Boyd says that "the privilege is there and they have had the opportunity to arrive at a certain height based on their qualifications and the system itself."

When asked if he thought Dr. Martin Luther King would be pleased with where Albany is right now, Boyd says "I would not say pleased, but he would be impressed because of what he found when he came here; he was a school mate of mine at Morehouse."
