ALBANY, GA -- Lily Pad, an organization raising awareness about sexual assault and child abuse, held their annual "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" event Saturday morning.

Men from all over the community came out to literally walk a mile in a woman's shoes. (Red high heels, to be exact.)

Corporal Lynn Davis, who participated in the event, said although it was just a little taste of what women have to go through, it did raise awareness of some of the difficulties women in our community face.

The chairman of the Walk a Mile event, Dr. Cheryl Kaiser, said this event helps educate the community about the difficult topic of sexual violence. Kaiser also said it's important to show the people going through this that they have the support of the whole community. Kaiser said that's what these victims need more than anything, support.
