SYLVESTER, GA --
One Worth County Middle Schooler has traded in the textbooks for the pruning shears after he whispered the word, "bomb" during an assembly on Wednesday addressing the school system's week of threats.

Riley Shealey, a 6th grader at Worth County Middle School says when teachers told them not to say the word "bomb" on school grounds, he and a few others whispered it as a joke. The joke turned serious when administrators would not allow any students to leave until they pinpointed who made the whispers.

Shealey says that's when he became scared of the consequences he faced. Shealey ended up getting three days of suspension from the school -- but his parents didn't think that was enough.

His mother, Kelley Hall Says she and her husband thought if the punishment was severe enough it would stop Shealey from talking back.

While his classmates are in school, Shealey is busy completing a daily list of chores that include trimming all of his yard's overgrown hedges, taking out the trash, walking the dogs and more.

Despite the chores, Shealey considers the worst part of his punishment to be the banning of all technology from video games to his cell phone and the cancellation of his birthday party which was supposed to be held this weekend.

The 6th grader says he learned his lesson of taking orders seriously and not talking back, something his mother hopes will stick in the future.

For now, Shealey's punishment continues until he returns to school on Tuesday.
