Car fire slows traffic on Stuart and Nottingham

The Albany Police Department and Albany Fire Department are on scene at a car fire at the intersection of Nottingham and Stuart Avenue.

UPDATE:

Natasha Dunlap, the driver of a blue, 2000 Dodge Neon was traveling down Stuart Avenue when another driver noticed a fire under her car.

Dunlap pulled over and the fire grew.

Flames destroyed the entire front of her car, including the engine.

The car contained two passengers, none of which were injured.


ORIGINAL STORY:

The Albany Police Department and Albany Fire Department are on scene at a car fire at the intersection of Nottingham Way and Stuart Avenue.

The fire has been put out and police are currently clearing the roadway, however traffic is backed up in both directions.

Still awaiting details on how the fire began.
