ALBANY,GA --
Albany State University is celebrating international education all this week.

They held a poster contest and kicked off the international Parade of Flags Tuesday morning.

Officials say it's important students appreciate learning about other cultures.

“It's a global world. Even if you live in southwest Georgia, you're going to meet and work with and deal with and have people that are not American in your community and your world. So in order for us to be successful, we have to be comfortable with diversity!” says International Student Advisor Maggie Emily.

ASU will also hold a panel discussion on diversity Thursday at 6 p.m.
