ALBANY, GA -- Tift County turned a new shade of purple on Thursday night.

Over 120 survivors, family, and friends gathered in purple to promote Lupus awareness in and around Tift County.

According to the Lupus Foundation of America, lupus "is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body." They believe that over five million people worldwide are affected by Lupus.
