Chehaw Park held its annual Sip-N-Safari Saturday on the grounds around Chehaw.

Folks took a gander at all kinds of antelope and zebra on the park's new African veldt exhibit.

Campfires were set up all around for folks to mingle and several got to talk with Jim Fowler, former host of the TV show ‘Animal Kingdom’ and who helped with the layout of Chehaw back in the 1970's.

He still has quite a vision for the park.

“I think the real key is how do you make Chehaw Park economically important to the city and to this region? It's all about benefitting, when you really come down to it, bringing in tourism, bringing in people from outside,” says Fowler.

Everyone enjoyed drinks from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., when dinner was served.

They hope to open the new exhibit to the public in the near future.
