ALBANY, GA -- They're probably not the first group you'd think would be out spreading holiday cheer.

But members of the gun rights group, GeorgiaCarry.org, were out ringing bells, raising money for the Salvation Army. About half a dozen members volunteered in rotating shifts outside the Sam’s Club in Albany.

“Our membership tends to be very civilly minded. They're folks that take responsibility for themselves and also their community. This is a way of giving back to the community and helping out. The Salvation Army does a great job. They're very frugal with their money, they spend it in good places, and they don't waste it. We definitly want to help them raise some money to do their mission,” said Chuck Turney of GeorgiaCarry.org.

GeorgiaCarry members were also at the Wal-Mart in Valdosta. They're also considering lining up other dates to raise money.
