Approximately 30 percent of registered voters in Dougherty County voted in the November election

ALBANY, GA -- Unofficial final numbers from the election show that 30 percent of people in Dougherty County voted. Election officials say they typically prepare for 50 percent of registered voters.

In total, 15,502 voters cast their ballot for the November election, which is 30.72 percent of the registered voters in Dougherty County. In Dougherty County and the city of Albany combined there are 50,456 registered voters.

Close to 2,000 voters – or four percent of registered voters -- participated in early voting.

All numbers from the Albany-Dougherty County election will be officially final on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
