ALBANY, GA -- Chehaw Park is raising its rates--but only by 50 cents, and it only applies to the Wild Animal Park.

Adult tickets will cost $8.75 and children will be $5.75.

New rates will begin in October.

The park is working on several projects as well.

They've built new cabins for the campgrounds as well as built new signs around the entire park.

Director Doug Porter is especially excited about a new safari expedition experience they have planned.

“We're gonna bring in African animals, we've bought some of Jim Fowler's animals from here in Albany and we brought some animals in from some other zoos and they're actually at the park now getting acclimated to their area,” says Porter.

A water park is also in the works and a portion will be built hopefully as early as next summer.
