Senate Bill 93 has been signed into law by Governor Nathan Deal. It means bath salts that can typically be found in convenience stores are now illegal.

It's a crime to possess and to sell bath salts and local drug enforcement officers say they're going to be on the lookout.

“Stores that may have it or have had it, it is now illegal. And we're going to start checking and we're going to start doing some compliance looks and buys. And if you have it, we're going to start making cases,” said Major Bill Berry of the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit.

Previously there was no law restricting bath salts. Abusers would inject the powder material for a "meth-like" high.
