Blair says several businesses are set to move downtown in the next few months

ALBANY, GA -- Downtown manager Aaron Blair gave Dougherty County commissioners an update on what's going on downtown.

They launched their retail incubator program April first which helps businesses with their rent as an incentive to keep their buildings up to code.

They are also working on loft conversions and scoping out the right areas for that.

Several businesses are looking to make the move downtown--Blair said they've had 12 businesses sign leases, and only four of those have moved in so far.

The rest will make the move over the next few months.

Commissioners expressed how excited they were at the improvement so far downtown.
