Expo aims to give opportunities to area individuals and businesses to network and strengthen companies
ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Area Black Expo is celebrating culture and businesses with the help of local corporations like Miller Coors and Proctor & Gamble. The expo aims to give individuals and businesses the opportunity to reach the African-American population, but Commissioner Christopher Pike says everyone is invited.
The expo starts next Tuesday with Business After Hours at the Hilton Garden Inn.
On April 23, tradeshows and workshops will be held at no charge for companies to promote and strengthen their business.
"Businesses will be set up as an exhibit and be promoting and marketing their products and services but in between that we will also have workshops. These workshops traditionally, businesses and people who participate will pay anywhere from $100 to $300 for these workshops, but we're offering them for free to the community," says Pike.
The Women of Purpose Awards Luncheon will be held April 21 featuring singers from Hip Hop Grows Up and Guest Speaker Lynn Whitfield. Awards will be presented to local women who make a difference in the community. The six awards include Woman of Empowerment and Woman of Ambition.
