ALBANY, GA. --

To shed light on domestic violence, the Liberty House held a candlelight vigil Thursday evening to remember those who've passed away.

The annual event was also a way to honor survivors of domestic violence.

The ceremony started with a silent walk from the Department of Family and Children Services building on Oglethorpe Boulevard to the Veterans’ Amphitheater.

The theme was to 'Remember, Celebrate and Connect'.

Domestic violence survivors gave testimonials, while the Freedom Singers sang songs of hope.

The vigil wrapped up with the lighting of candles in honor of the many victims.
