The youth ministry at River Road Church of Christ will be partaking in a 30 hour famine, from Thursday to Friday night.

A group of around 20 local kids are abstaining from food, as they raise hunger awareness and collect canned goods for the Second Harvest Food Bank of South Georgia.

Participant look at this as a great way to take responsibility for the community they live in.

“This is my community, and if I don't do anything, who will? It's solely up to us, this is our community, and therefore, we should take responsibility for it,” said the Youth Ministries Vice President, Jessica King.

Throughout the famine, the youth ministry will be volunteering at soup kitchens and homeless shelters where they will hold  open discussions pertaining to health, hygiene, and spirituality.
