ALBANY, GA --
Albany State University held a blood drive Wednesday to help local blood banks and to educate the community.

The goal of the “It Takes All Types” campaign is to raise awareness of how blood and organ donation can benefit the community.

ASU Athletic Director Dr. Richard Williams said, "They learn (in class) the importance of health the importance of being healthy and making healthy decisions, and the aspect of giving back with blood as well as organ donations, those are some of the important decisions from a health stand point that we want our students to know."

Williams also says its important for the students to give back to the community that gives so much to them.
