Monday, June 17, 2013  The Albany Aviation Commission met this evening as the final preparations are being made for the new terminal's grand opening on July 10th.

Sunday, March 24, 2013  Officials with Southwest Georgia Regional Airport confirmed on Friday that the Albany air traffic control tower has been placed on the FAA closure list due to the sequestration.

Monday, March 18, 2013  The Federal Aviation Administration has announced in a letter to airports, that due to a large number of responses in response to it's oppurtunity to explain why the elimination of funding for the tower operations at their airports would adversely affect the national interest.
