Tuesday, April 02, 2013  Albany-Dougherty Aviation Commission officials have approached the Albany Board of Commissioners about taking over the air tower set to be closed due to sequestration.

Friday, March 22, 2013  Officials with Southwest Georgia Regional Airport have confirmed via email that the Albany contract tower has been placed on the FAA closure list due to the sequestration.

Monday, March 18, 2013  The Federal Aviation Administration has announced in a letter to airports, that due to a large number of responses in response to it's oppurtunity to explain why the elimination of funding for the tower operations at their airports would adversely affect the national interest.
