Multiple agencies make arrest in trailer theft

QUITMAN, GA -- Lowndes County Sheriff's Office officials have announced the arrest of a man suspected in the theft of a trailer from Tift County.

Officials say that Robert Kier Jr. has been arrested at a residence in Quitman with the help of the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office and the Quitman Police Department.

Investigators say that they had received information about Kier and his involvement leading to them checking Kier's residence in Lowndes County where they found a a 24’ K&K Manufacturing flat bed goose neck valued at $8,500.00 and a 32’ Optima enclosed trailer valued at $9,000.00 that had been reported stolen in Nassau County, Florida.

Kier has been charged with two counts of receiving stolen property.

Lowndes County Sheriff Chris Prine is asking that anyone with information about Robert Kier or thefts that he may have been involved with to contact the Sheriff’s Office at {229} 671-2950 or on-line at www.lowndessheriff.com. Anonymous tips can be provided at {229} 671-2985.
