Friday the SOWEGA Council on Aging hosted their 31st Annual Senior Citizen Picnic in honor of "Older Americans Month."

The theme this year was the 50's which included twisting, hoola hoop contests with burgers and hot dogs.  SOWEGA’s Reba Stewart said all enjoyed the day.

“It’s so wonderful for them because so many times they don’t really have a lot of activities.  We have a 99-year-old senior citizen who lives alone and she requested a slow tune so she could dance.”
