Hopetohaiti.com is a website started up by Albany native Scott Bonnell in 2007 and is dedicated to helping the already poor nation.

Bonnell now lives in Tallahassee, but Wednesday he will be making a trip to Haiti along with doctors from around the country and undisclosed celebrities.  He already has people on the ground from his organization helping the victims and tomorrow will bring food, water, and medical supplies on a cargo plane.  Bonnell says it’s tough to prepare for this trip mentally and isn’t sure about what to expect.

“It’s hard to even imagine what we’re going to encounter.  I’m trying not to focus right now on what I’ll see, I know in my mind what I’m going to see but I got to get to my people,” said Bonnell.

Bonnell says he'll stay in Haiti for around six days. Meanwhile, his projects in Haiti feed around 3,000 children per day; Bonnell has also set up clean water projects in Haiti.
