Future firemen learn life-saving skills Tuesday.
It's part of a ten week program where the students are trained by a GEMA instructor. Firemen-in-training learned how to properly extract a victim from a car that's been in an accident.
“If you make a wrong cut in these vehicles, with the airbags in the doors and stuff like that, you can cause major damage by not doing it correctly,” said Battalion Chief Marty Leverett.
After five more weeks, these firemen-in-training will be assigned to different battalions where they will be able to put what they've learned to good use.
