Dr. Kent Keith spoke to Dougherty Rotarians today about servant leadership.

Dr. Keith is the CEO of the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership.  Dr. Keith says servant leadership is a philosophy and a set of values that focus on identifying and meeting the needs of others.  Dr. Keith says the best part about servant leadership is that everyone can participate.

“Wherever you are in a family, or a group, or in an organization, or a community, wherever you are in that setting you can look around and you can figure out what it is people need and work toward getting that to them,” says Dr. Keith.

Dr. Keith says that this particular movement was started by Mark Greenleaf in 1970 in his essay, “Servant as Leader.”
