The culmination of Red Ribbon Week for Dougherty County schools concluded today with a powerful presentation at Magnolia Elementary.

The Dougherty County Sheriff’s Department had three current and/or former inmates come out to speak to the 400 students about staying away from drugs and alcohol.  One inmate was sentenced to prison for killing a person while he was driving drunk, another was sentenced to five years on drug convictions, and the third is a former inmate who was also involved with drugs.

Dougherty County Sheriff Kevin Sproul says he’ll revisit the school next week and follow up to see what the students learned.
