The event included musical selections, poetry readings, personal stories, and the reading of every victim’s name in Georgia who died because of domestic violence.

Domestic abuse survivor Nancy Reimer says the event is important to educate the public.  “It’s all races, all ages, all social classes, and all religions.  No one is immune to being a domestic violence survivor or being a victim of domestic violence” says Reimer.

Liberty House officials say that even though domestic violence awareness month is coming to an end, Albany faces the problem year round.
