State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox visited a couple of schools in Albany today to congratulate them on their recent accomplishments.  Alice Coachman Elementary is a 2009 National Blue Ribbon School winner and Merry Acres is no longer a state-directed school on the Needs Improvement List.

But while success feels good, Cox says there’s no room for complacency.

“These are the types of things we celebrate when we have success, but we have to stay focused and we’re not where we want to be,” said Cox.
