Delora Sterne Brown, 83, of Albany died Thursday October 22, 2009 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital following an illness.
The family will receive friends from 3 PM to 5 PM on Sunday at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors.
A native of Albany and long time resident, Mrs. Brown was a very kind and loving mother and grandmother, and a wonderful friend to all. She was a graduate of Albany High School and of the University of Alabama. She loved to travel, read, was a champion bridge player, and possessed a tremendous sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her parents Love Wilder Sterne and Delora Leggett Knight, her brother Edwin Leggett Sterne, her husband John Todd “Jack” Brown, Jr., and her daughter Florence Secord Brown.
She is survived by her son, John Todd Brown, III, of Birmingham, AL, her daughter, Elizabeth Wilder Brown of Baltimore, MD, her grandson, Zachary Todd Brown of Savannah, GA, her granddaughter, Katherine Ann Brown of Birmingham, AL, her sister-in-law, Elinor Crawford Sterne of Birmingham, AL, two nieces: Ellin Sterne Jimmerson of Huntsville, AL, and Pamela Sterne King of Birmingham, and her daughter-in-law Korrie D. Brown of Birmingham, AL.
