Mrs. Elizabeth (Libbo) New Loosier, of 622 Russell Rd. went to be with Jesus on September 27, 2009.
The funeral service will be held Thursday 1:00PM at First Baptist Church of Albany, 145 Oakland Pkwy, Leesburg, GA with interment to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. The Dr. Butch Knight, Rev Perry F. Webb and Rev. Dan Robinson will be officiating.
Mrs. Loosier was born in Decatur, GA on July 8th 1925 to William Lafayette New and Minnie Lee Grant. She attended Shorter Baptist College in Rome, GA where she was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Tau Sorority.
Elizabeth was married to Oscar on November 15, 1947 at First Baptist Church in Thomaston, GA. She was a member of the Charity League, the P.E.O. the Garden Club, the Book Club and served on the Board of the Albany Little Theatre where she both performed in and directed many plays. She served on the Board of Directors of Alltel Telephone Company and was honored as mother of Year in 1974 by First Baptist Church where she has been a member for 61 years. Elizabeth started the drama department at First Baptist Church where God used her to minister to many people.
She was preceded in death by her husband O.F. Loosier Jr. two grandchildren Oscar and Thomas Loosier.
She was survived by five children, Mike Loosier, Lee Eady and her husband Chuck Eady of Birmingham, AL; Eddie Loosier and his wife Sue Jenkins Loosier of Gainesville, GA; Grant Loosier and his wife Pat Harrell Loosier of Macon; and Lynn Loosier of New York City, NY; thirteen grandchildren, Amon Eady, Bill Loosier, Grant Loosier Jr., Michael Eady, Loy L. Allen, Joshua Loosier, Charles Loosier, David Eady, Jonathan Loosier, Victoria Loosier, Susanna Loosier, Michael Loosier and Layla Loosier. Five Great-grandchildren Alyssa and Ansley Allen, Noah Eady, Tristen and Bailey Brook Loosier. We must not leave out her special friend and part of our family Mrs. Frances Collins.
The family will receive friends Wednesday Sept 30, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00PM at Kimbrell-Stern.
