Aulton (Spud) Johnson (1901-2009)

Aulton (Spud) Johnson, age 84, of Canton (formerly of Albany), passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2009. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a freight agent with 40 years of service. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, member of the Albany Masonic Lodge, President of the Exchange Club, President of the Southwest Georgia Sportsman Club, and a member and Deacon of Byne Memorial Baptist Church in Albany, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Friday, September 25, 2009 at Byne Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Brown and Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ruth Kelley Johnson, Canton, GA; sons, Mike (Wanda) Johnson, Ball Ground, GA, Ron (Lisa) Johnson, Canton, GA and Dennis Johnson, Albany, GA; sister Trudy Phillips, Lawrenceville, GA; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday (Today) from 6 PM until 8 PM and Friday from 11 AM until 1 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.
