Originally from Fairfax, VA. Melanie ventured north for college and graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University in 2011. During her college career, she studied Broadcast and Digital Journalism and Political Science.

While in college Melanie was a reporter and producer for the campus news station, CitrusTV, and the public affairs television show CONNECT SYRACUSE. She was also a student reporter for Democracywise, a local political website. Over the summers Melanie had internships with the Smithsonian's National Zoo and WTTG-TV, the FOX station in Washington, D.C. Melanie also had the opportunity to live in Madrid, Spain for four months.

Melanie joined the WFXL news team July 2011 and is very excited about the warm weather after nearly 200 inches of snow at Syracuse! When she isn’t cover the news she enjoys running, trying out new recipes, and spending time outside.

Melanie is excited to call Albany her new home and is looking forward to discovering everything Southwest Georgia has to offer. If you have any story ideas, or just want to say hi, please feel free to e-mail her at MKendall@wfxl.com.
