Romney Smith joined FOX 31 News in August 2009, but she’s no stranger to the Peach State as she was raised in Marietta, GA. Romney went to the University of Richmond (Go Spiders!) and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Rhetoric and Communication Studies. After graduation Romney moved to Baltimore, Maryland, to do pharmaceutical sales for four years.
Romney felt the "news itch" and decided to switch careers and pursue her love of journalism. Romney prepared for her new career change by earning a master's degree in journalism at the University of Maryland College Park in May 2009. Romney likes shopping, dancing, and running. She is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Romney is excited to be back in Georgia accompanied by her beloved Yorkshire Terrier Linney.
